Research
Our research focuses on the development of bio-inspired and bio-derived materials to meet unmet needs in treating and diagnosing disease. We strive to use chemistry and engineering approaches to iteratively design, synthesize, characterize, evaluate and validate next-generation biomaterials with the goal of making a translational impact on improving human health.
Major research areas are:

-
Cancer Immunotherapy
-
Wound Healing
-
Diabetes Therapy
-
Infectious Diseases

Sedentary life style and lack of physical exercise, exposed people to various health complication. One of them is type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM), a metabolic condition of having abnormal blood glucose level. To treat the condition, various options are available such as metformin, sulfonylureas, insulin, exenatide, DPP-4 inhibitors, glutides etc. Painful delivery methods with multiple doses requirement to maintain glucose level, these drugs have long term side effect on the function of other organs. To address these problems, our research focuses towards the development of a drug delivery system which can maintain required plasma glucose concentration for longer time with fewer side effects on other organs.
